KUENDRUP HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL

Surrounded by the Areca nut trees, the predominant cash crop of the south, Kuendrup Higher Secondary School is located one kilometer away from bustle and rumpus of the town in a fine ambience conducive to the teaching learning process. The establishment of school dates back to 2003, where the school started as Kuendrup Early Learning Centre by the visionary and progressive patron of the school Mr. Lobzang Tshering. Later it was upgraded to primary in 2005 and Lower Secondary in 2007.

Upon the prior approval from the Ministry, the Higher Secondary was established in 2008. The establishment of school was a boon to the community of this region since they need not have to travel to other region for education. The school is affiliated to the Bhutan Council for School Examination and Assessment. Right from its inception, the school has been one of the leading schools in terms of its academic excellence, games & sports and in literary activities.

The school gives utmost importance to academic matters as well as extracurricular activities. Since the school emphasizes on discipline, the atmosphere is highly conducive to learning. Also we pay much attention to the all round development of grooming the personality of the students.

In addition to this, the school has made available the service of a pool of highly qualified, dedicated and well experienced teachers from India as well as the toppers from the major educational institutions of our country. The school makes sure that every child of this institution gets personal care and proper attention in the class and outside the school.

The school has got all streams, Science, Commerce and Arts for XI and XII. The school has also it’s Primary Wing from Class PP-III. The school has plans to institute Classes IV and Above in the near future to ease the admission pressure in Gelephu Thromde.

A good number of our students get enrolled in Sherubtse, Gaeddu and other major tertiary institutions every year under the Royal University of Bhutan. The team work and devotion of the staff to the cause of Education is really worth mentioning.
